It’s time to put your skills to work to increase your take-home pay. Not insignificantly, your job is also your access point to insurance benefits and retirement savings options, too.

Here are a few important workplace tips to consider:

  • Use your benefits. Companies know that good employee benefits help retain employees. Use them! If your company offers a retirement plan match, take it. Some companies will offer tuition reimbursement.
  • Monitor internal job postings. It’s expense to hire outside the organization. Step up in the workplace to raise your visibility for the next job up the ladder. Give your company a reason to look at an internal candidate first.
  • Find a mentor. Build a relationship with a senior member of the team. It doesn’t always have to be work, either. In fact, most people will appreciate going the extra mile and the thoughtfulness. True leaders want to raise people up and educate them. Be that person.
